Walter Bowman Russell was always an artist, and maybe it was this gift from god that allowed him to reach such a revolutionary perspective. Born in Boston, to Canadian immigrants from Nova Scotia, he left school before 10 to work, however continued his education later in the Massachusetts Normal Art School, becoming known over the years as an impressionist American painter (of the Boston School), sculptor, natural philosopher, musician, author, and architect.
In May of 1921, a visionary experience gave him insight into the inner motion of the universe and he spent the rest of his life planting the seeds to change the worlds understanding about it. In the chapter “The Story of My Illumining” of the 1950 edition Home Study Course he reports that “During that period…[he] could perceive all motion…” and “…[he was] aware of all things” and that “It will be remembered that no one who has ever had [the experience of illumination] has been able to explain it. I deem it my duty to the world to tell of it.”
Together with his wife Lao, he founded a private university for distance education known as the University of Science and Philosophy , in Swannanoa, Virgina. Their home study course in Cosmic Consciousness continues to entice a radically new cosmogony based on what was revealed to Russell in the 20’s.
A sentiment captured in conclusion in an open letter to science in “Special revised edition of “A BRIEF TREATISE ON THE RUSSELL COSMOGONY” A NEW CONCEPT of the UNIVERSE by Walter Russell he passes the torch stating:
“It has taken many years to so complete it that it is invulnerable to attack, but this has now been done, and this present treatise is as complete in brief as the whole cosmogony is complete in detail.
I do not look for immediate acceptance of this revolutionary new knowledge. I do hope and expect, however, that the seed of it will grow within the consciousness of science, and as I am nearing 82 years of age I feel it incumbent to announce the fact to science through this open letter and treatise that The Russell Cosmogony, which my gifted wife, Lao, and I have together written into a year’s Study Course of 935 uncontradictable pages, and 182 diagrams, is now complete. This course is now being studied all over the world and through our students as seed, this new knowledge will ultimately transform the world. It is with the deep desire that a higher civilization shall arise that I send forth this message to mankind. The day is here when Science and Religion must marry, or through ignorance of God’s Universal Laws man will perish from the earth. Hoping that the world of science will recognize that this treatise has within it the answer to basic cause for which it has been so long and tirelessly searching,
I am sincerely yours,

Here is a critique of Russell accusing him of being no more than a nonscientific cult leader, however this is a quote from the paper “We would probably need to ask recognized authorities to comment on whether these articles actually make any sense or not.” when referring to work done at the University of Science and Philosophy, Waynesboro, Virginia: https://www.bunkyo.ac.jp/faculty/lib/klib/kiyo/lit/l2001/l200104.pdf
Here is another critique saying Russell Walter was mostly right, yet still inept by reifying things that do not exist, his biggest pitfall being that he never defined what a field was:
Not to be mistaken for these other Walter Russells:
